Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 6 October 2026

These terms apply when you use www.parlourist.com and when you buy a membership or digital product from us. Please read them before you join. By using our website, applying for membership or making a purchase, you agree to them. When you buy, you accept them by ticking the box at checkout.

1. About us

The Parlourist is a trading name of Nils Dekeersmaeker Ltd, a private limited company registered in England and Wales under company number 14521302. Our registered office is 71 Hillgate Place, London, W8 7SS, United Kingdom.

In these terms, "The Parlourist", "we", "us" and "our" mean Nils Dekeersmaeker Ltd. "You" means the person using our website or buying from us and, where you buy on behalf of a business, that business too.

You can reach us at hello@parlourist.com.

2. Who can use our website and services

Our website and services are for adults aged 18 and over. When you apply or buy, you confirm that you are at least 18 and that the information you give us is accurate. If you buy on behalf of a company or other organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these terms on its behalf.

3. Consumers and business customers

Some of these terms apply differently depending on who you are:

  • You are a consumer if you are an individual buying mainly for purposes outside your trade, business or profession.

  • You are a business customer if you buy for a company, an organisation, or your trade or profession. This includes paying with a business card, asking for an invoice addressed to a company, or giving us a VAT number.

If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your legal rights. Where a clause applies only to consumers or only to business customers, we say so.

4. Memberships

4.1 Applying. Membership is by application. We review every application to keep the community trusted, relevant and enjoyable for everyone in it. We may ask for more information, such as your profession, company or a professional profile, before we decide.

4.2 Our decision. We may decline any application at our discretion and do not have to give a reason. If you have already paid and we decline your application, we will refund you in full.

4.3 What is included. Each plan includes the access described on our Memberships and Compare Plans pages at the time you join. Access is mainly given through private WhatsApp groups ("Lounges"), our members' area, our member directory and our HNWI calendars. Member numbers shown on our website are approximate and change over time. Tickets to events and experiences are not included.

4.4 Changes to plans. As the community grows, we may improve, reorganise or rename Lounges and features. If a change significantly reduces what your plan includes, we will tell you, and you may cancel and receive a pro rata refund for the unused part of your current paid period.

4.5 Your membership is personal. Your membership is for you alone. You may not share your access, add other people to a Lounge, or transfer your membership without our written agreement. A business customer may name one individual per membership, and may ask us to change that person.

5. Prices, billing and renewal

5.1 Prices. Our prices are shown in US dollars. Your card issuer may apply its own exchange rate or fees, which are outside our control.

5.2 Taxes. Where VAT or other sales taxes apply, they are shown at checkout. If you are a business customer outside the UK and give us a valid VAT number, we may not charge VAT where the reverse charge applies, and you are then responsible for accounting for it in your own country.

5.3 Billing. Monthly plans are billed every month and yearly plans every year, starting on the day you join. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, Stripe.

5.4 Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.

5.5 Price changes. If we change the price of your plan, we will tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies to your renewal. If you would rather not continue at the new price, you can cancel before it takes effect.

5.6 Failed payments. If a payment fails, we may pause your access until it is paid.

5.7 Offers. A discount or introductory price applies only to the period stated when you buy, unless we tell you otherwise.

6. Cancelling your membership

6.1 Cancelling at any time. You can cancel at any time by emailing hello@parlourist.com or, where available, from your account on our website. Cancelling stops your next renewal. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund partial periods. This applies to monthly and yearly plans alike.

6.2 Your 14-day cancellation right (consumers). If you are a consumer in the UK or the EU, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of joining, without giving a reason. By accepting these terms at checkout, you ask us to start your membership straight away. If you then cancel within the 14 days, we will refund what you paid, less a proportionate amount for the days of access you had before you told us you were cancelling. We will refund you within 14 days of your request, to your original payment method.

6.3 Business customers. The 14-day cancellation right does not apply to business customers, who can cancel at any time under clause 6.1.

6.4 If we suspend or end your membership. We may suspend or end your membership straight away if you break these terms or the Code of Conduct, or if we reasonably believe your presence puts other members, the community or us at risk. In that case we will not refund any fees. We may also end your membership for any other reason by giving you at least 30 days' notice, and we will then refund the unused part of any period you have paid for.

Our Refund Policy summarises how cancellations and refunds work.

7. Code of Conduct

The Parlourist works because members trust one another. Give more than you take. By joining, you agree to:

  • Keep each Lounge to its purpose. Buying and selling belongs in our deal flow Lounges. Introductions, advice, events, trips, meet-ups, career updates, news and general networking belong in the others. Please do not cross-post the same message.

  • Keep introductions relaxed and short, mentioning your experience where it adds to the conversation.

  • Post thoughtfully: no multiple consecutive messages, low-effort posts, AI-generated filler or blatant advertising.

  • Share reintroductions and repeat opportunities no more than once a month.

  • Keep it (ultra) high-end luxury.

  • Treat others the way you would want to be treated.

  • Respect confidentiality. Do not share screenshots, member names, contact details or conversations from the community outside it without the permission of the people involved.

  • Use member details only to connect with members personally. Do not use them for mass marketing, scraping, or adding people to other groups or lists without their consent.

  • Never post anything unlawful, misleading, abusive or discriminatory, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.

WhatsApp's own terms also apply in our Lounges. We may remove messages, and members, that do not follow these rules.

8. Deal flow and introductions

8.1 We are not part of your deals. The Parlourist is a networking community. Members deal directly with each other. We do not act as a broker, agent, intermediary, adviser or principal in any transaction, and we do not take a commission or fee on deals between members.

8.2 No advice. Nothing shared on our website, in our Lounges, on our deal flow tracker, in our emails or at events is investment, financial, legal, tax or other professional advice. Nor is it a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any asset or investment. We are not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or any other financial regulator.

8.3 We do not verify opportunities. Opportunities, listings, prices, mandates and claims are shared by members and other third parties. We do not verify them, the people sharing them, their authority to act, or the ownership, condition, legality or value of any asset. Our deal flow tracker summarises what has been shared with us, and entries may be out of date or no longer available.

8.4 Your own checks. Before dealing with anyone you meet through The Parlourist, you are responsible for your own due diligence, including identity, anti-money laundering, sanctions and regulatory checks, and for taking independent professional advice.

8.5 Arrangements between members. Any commission, fee or other arrangement between members is solely between them. We are not responsible for agreeing, collecting or enforcing it.

8.6 Sharing an opportunity. When you share an opportunity, you confirm that you are entitled to share it, that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that sharing it complies with any laws that apply, including rules on financial promotions.

8.7 Submissions through our website. If you submit an opportunity through our website, including as a non-member, you agree that we may share a summarised version of it with members and on our website.

9. Events, meet-ups and calendars

9.1 Third-party events. The events in our calendars, emails and website are organised by third parties. We do not organise, host or sell tickets for them, and we are not responsible for their content, availability, pricing, changes, cancellation or safety. You arrange and pay for tickets directly with the organiser, and the organiser's terms apply.

9.2 RSVPs and meet-ups. An RSVP on our website lets other members know you plan to attend. It is not a ticket or a guarantee of entry. Meet-ups between members are informal and arranged by members themselves. You attend at your own risk and are responsible for your own costs and conduct.

9.3 Calendar details. We work hard to keep our calendars accurate, but dates and details come from third parties and can change. Please check with the organiser before making plans.

10. Digital products

10.1 Your licence. Our digital products, such as our guides and social calendars, are for your own use or for internal use within your business. You may not copy, resell, share, publish or distribute them, in whole or in part.

10.2 Updates. Some products, such as our social calendars, are updated over time. We provide updates for the period described when you buy. If a product renews automatically, such as a yearly calendar plan, sections 5.4 to 5.6 and 6.1 apply to its renewals just as they do to a membership.

10.3 Immediate access. Digital products are delivered as soon as you buy. By accepting these terms at checkout, you ask for immediate access and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right to cancel once access begins.

10.4 Refunds. Cancellations and refunds for digital products are covered in our Refund Policy.

11. Using our website

You agree to use our website lawfully. You must not scrape or collect data from it by automated means, access members-only areas without permission, introduce viruses or harmful code, or interfere with how the website works.

Please keep your login details confidential. You are responsible for activity under your account, and should tell us straight away if you think someone else has used it.

We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the website at any time.

12. Intellectual property

All content on our website, including text, graphics, logos, images, video, calendars, guides and software, is owned by or licensed to Nils Dekeersmaeker Ltd and protected by intellectual property laws. "The Parlourist" name and logo are ours. You may view our content for your own use, but you may not reproduce, distribute, modify or republish it without our written permission.

13. Content you share

13.1 Your content. You keep ownership of what you share with us, such as your directory profile, messages, listings and images. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use it to run and promote The Parlourist, for example to show your directory profile to other members.

13.2 Anonymised highlights. We publish regular highlights of what members are discussing. These are anonymised: we remove names and details that identify you, and we will not publish anything that identifies you without your permission.

13.3 Your responsibility. You confirm that you have the right to share your content and that it does not break the law or infringe anyone's rights.

14. Our responsibility to you

14.1 What we are responsible for. We provide our services with reasonable care and skill. We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill.

14.2 What we do not exclude. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot be limited or excluded by law, including your rights as a consumer.

14.3 Members and third parties. We are not responsible for what members, event organisers or other third parties say, offer or do, or for any deal, introduction, arrangement or meeting between you and them.

14.4 Consumers. If you are a consumer, we provide our services for your private use. We are not liable to you for loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption or loss of business opportunity.

14.5 Business customers. If you are a business customer, we are not liable for any loss of profits, sales, business, revenue, opportunity, goodwill or anticipated savings, or for any indirect or consequential loss. Our total liability to you in connection with these terms is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

15. Third-party services and links

Our Lounges run on WhatsApp and our payments are processed by Stripe. Their own terms and privacy policies apply when you use them. Our website may link to other websites, which we do not control and are not responsible for.

16. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and protect your personal data.

17. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will show the date of the latest version at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects your membership, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not agree, you can cancel before it takes effect.

18. Complaints

If something is not right, please email hello@parlourist.com and we will do our best to resolve it quickly.

19. General

  • We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organisation, for example if our business is sold. We will tell you if this happens, and if you are a consumer and unhappy with the transfer, you can cancel.

  • If a court decides that part of these terms is invalid, the rest remains in force.

  • If we delay enforcing these terms, we can still enforce them later.

  • No one other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms.

  • If you are a business customer, these terms are the entire agreement between us about their subject matter.

20. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer living in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts. If you are a consumer living in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of your country and may bring proceedings in your local courts.
